Hiking
“The mountains are calling and I must go.” – John Muir
News flash…I am not a fan of traditional exercise. A few years back (after Hannah was born) I lost about 30 pounds. I was strict with my diet, and I worked out five days a week for at least 45 minutes. What I mean by traditional exercise is running on a treadmill, riding a stationary bike, lifting weights and logging hours at the gym. Kris is the same way. The good news is we’re still healthy because we’ve found other types of exercise that work for us and fit better with our personalities. One of the things we enjoy the most is hiking. I don’t need to set the incline on a treadmill. I’m literally walking at an incline…up a mountain. I’m not paying attention to miles walked because I’m in distracted by the breathtaking scenery and I’m with my family, and that’s all that matters.
